A dust balance is a small crypto balance that stays in a wallet because moving it alone may cost more than its value. DustEthic proposes a method to turn these micro-balances into batched donations without hiding fees.
Plain idea
The issue is not that dust has no value. The issue is that it is too small to use alone.
DustEthic does not claim that all dust can be recovered. The standard defines when a batched donation becomes rational, how the user consents and what proof must be published.
Remember
A donation intent is not yet an executed donation. The donation becomes verifiable only when the batch is executed and the proof shows gross amount, fees and the NGO net amount.
Reading direction
The simple journey should read from left to right.
You choose
You select an NGO or campaign with a verified receiving address.
You sign
The signature is limited by amount, network, asset, duration and fee cap.
The batch proves
The proof shows what came in, what was deducted and what arrived at the NGO.
Separated roles
Each actor must stay in its role.
Donor
Authorizes a bounded participation. No unlimited permission.
Wallet
Explains dust, fees, exclusions and signature before any action.
Relayer
Batches, may advance gas and publishes actual costs.
NGO
Receives the net amount and can verify the batch or related receipt.
